3rd September 2013 - 9th September 2013 (week 2)
I have picked my individual assignment topic. It is Roles in dehydration of food in food processing and food dehydration. I went to the library to search for books for this title. I also searched for a food science textbook to refer to. I have bought my chemistry, biostatistics and entrepreneur textbook from the campus bookshop.
I have attended my first entrepreneur class. Everything was so foreign compared to science classes. Students were from different schools such as Business and Pharmacy school. I missed the first lecture because it was held on the orientation day and I could not attend, so I was lost in the class. Therefore, I have bought the textbook to help me to buckle up.

28th August 2013
Today is the third and the last day of orientation. Classes will start tomorrow. I have gotten my timetable from the student portal. I find my timetable quite packed. Eight in the morning until six in the evening everyday. I hope I will be able to survive through traffic jams everyday because I live quite far away from campus. I am aware that waking up too early and getting stuck in jams are very tiring. I am afraid that this will actually affect my results.
A few different briefings were given today. We had a Mind Mapping Workshop too. I learnt what are the basic properties a mind map must have.
We also get to meet our seniors from the Biosciences Club today. We had an ice-breaking session. Clubs and Societies Day was held in The Grand Hall and I joined the Dance Club because I like dancing. However, I was only able to attend the orientation party for around an hour because I have curfews to follow.
27th August 2013
Today is the second day of orientation day. Venue at LT14 at 8.30am also. We were welcomed by the Dean of Biosciences, Dr Anthony Ho. He is really friendly. We had Laboratory Briefing by the Scientific Officers and Academic Services briefing at the same venue.
I have attended a Personal Safety Awareness and Action Workshop later in the day. I have learnt how to avoid being a victim of crime and about Self-defence. I have also met a few new friends today. They were all friendly and helpful.

26th August 2013 (Orientation Day)
I have joined Taylor's University Lakeside in their Food Science with Nutrition degree course. It was my first day of degree and I have attended the orientation day held in The Grand Hall as early as 8.30am. We were greeted by the orientation leaders and student experience. A multimedia video was shown about an overview of Taylor's University and an introduction to the facilities in Taylor's.
After lunch, we had a scholarship and PTPTN briefing by Ms. Bee. The day ends with a Campus Hunt. It was a really exciting session and we got to meet new friends.
